About Us

Footsteps to the Future, from innovation to reality, this is our story…

In 2002 we came up with a groundbreaking, out of the box idea to put GPS tracking devices inside of shoes and became the first GPS wearable tech company in the world. We began filing patents and hiring engineers; a lot of R&D went into this concept, and everyone involved with the project said the same thing “WOW what a great idea!”

Our inspiration was the millions of people with Alzheimer’s, dementia, autism and traumatic brain injury who have a memory disorder and tendency to wander and become lost. But how do you track someone who walks out of the door with nothing more than the clothes they are wearing? Imagine if their very shoes can tell caregivers exactly where they are; it’s like wearing a smartphone on your feet!

Over the next 5 years we filled several patents made prototypes and the GPS Shoe was launched. Soon we were stepping out of manufacturing and in to the market.

But the thing about footwear and fashion is everyone wants something different! Some people want shoes with laces, others want Velcro, some like to wear black, others blue, white and tan! And then there are some who simply don’t want a new pair of shoes at all, they only like the shoes they are familiar with. People love the concept of the GPS Shoes because it’s non-intrusive, not visible, so no stigma from wearing them, but the challenge is footwear is very personal and highly individualized.

So we innovated again and came up with our next Big Idea- the GPS SmartSole® -think Lojack meets Dr Scholl’s. The SmartSole has all the same great tracking and wandering assistive technology, but you get to keep your own shoes!

It took us another 2 years of development and testing to launch the lighter, thinner, more powerful device and in December of 2014 we released the highly anticipated GPS SmartSole®. In that time, we cut the size of our technology in half, without giving up any features or technology. We eliminated the charging port- a known opening for water and dirt- in favor of an advanced inductive charging system, making the SmartSole water resistant. Now, GPS tracking can virtually be ‘invisible’ and, for the most part, universal.

And that’s how an idea to make a meaningful difference in the care of millions became the number 1 recommended patented GPS tracking device sold in over 20 countries.

As the CEO and inventor of our wearable technology, I can assure you, we won’t stop moving forward and we are constantly working to aid caregivers by creating new, innovative and practical solutions. In our future look for the BLE SmartSole for indoor tracking, health and wellness monitoring, devices with extended battery life, improved monitoring features, and yes, even children’s sizes!cropped-smartsole-head-bar-1.png
